• What: X is launching Chat, a full DM replacement with voice/video calls, file sharing, message editing and deletion, end-to-end encryption, and screenshot alerts. It’s live on iOS and web, with Android coming soon.

• Why: Mozilla wants to balance users who avoid AI with those who want occasional, privacy-respecting features. But early forum feedback is overwhelmingly negative, with all commenters rejecting the idea.

• Impact: The backlash highlights Mozilla’s tough spot: compete with AI-heavy browsers or risk alienating users who prefer a clean, AI-free experience — driving some toward forks like LibreWolf or Waterfox.

🛡️ Anthropic reports first fully AI-driven cyberattack ↗️LINK

• What: Anthropic says a Chinese state-linked group used its Claude Code model to run an AI-powered cyberattack on about 30 major organizations. Hackers jailbroke the model, letting it scan systems, find weaknesses, steal credentials, and create backdoors — doing most of the work on its own.

• Why: The attackers tricked Claude into thinking it was doing legitimate security testing. China denies involvement, but Anthropic has “high confidence” in its assessment.

• Impact: This is a major warning sign: autonomous AI tools can now power large-scale attacks with little human effort, raising new national-security risks.

• What: Amazon has joined Microsoft and Anthropic in supporting the GAIN AI Act, which would require Nvidia and other chipmakers to satisfy all U.S. demand for advanced processors before selling them abroad.

🚀 Blue Origin nails first New Glenn booster landing ↗️LINK

• What: Blue Origin successfully landed its 189-foot New Glenn booster on a drone ship—its first ever recovery and a milestone previously reached only by SpaceX. The win came just one launch after January’s failed attempt, where the booster exploded before landing.

• Why: Reusable boosters are critical to cutting launch costs and competing in the heavy-lift market dominated by SpaceX.

• Impact: The upper stage still deployed NASA’s twin Mars spacecraft, proving New Glenn’s mission capability while boosting Blue Origin’s credibility in deep-space launch services.
