💼 The world is getting nervous about AI and jobs ↗️LINK
Pew Research surveyed 42,151 people across 37 countries and found that in 34 countries, respondents more often expect AI to destroy jobs over the next 20 years than create them.
Concerns run highest in several wealthy countries, with 76 percent in Australia and South Korea and 71 percent in the US expecting job losses, while many also anticipate wider income inequality.
The mood is not completely bleak: a global median of 41 percent feel both concerned and excited about AI, suggesting enthusiasm survives even as younger adults report growing anxiety.
🖥️ Anthropic merges Claude chat and Cowork ↗️LINK
Anthropic is merging Claude's chat and Cowork into one interface. Pro and Max users get it first over the coming weeks, Team and Free plans follow, and existing Cowork projects carry over.
Anthropic says users struggled to pick the right tab, so Claude now routes each request itself. The update also adds Docs and Slides in beta, with exports to Word, Google Docs, PowerPoint, and PDF.
Cowork debuted as a separate research preview in January. Eight months later, Anthropic is folding it into chat, betting that most people would rather describe the job than choose the tool.
📢 OpenAI tests brand chatbots inside ChatGPT ads ↗️LINK
OpenAI is testing Sponsored Agents that let users chat with a brand’s AI after clicking a ChatGPT ad, turning a traditional ad interaction into an ongoing sponsored conversation.
Its new Ads Manager plugin lets marketers create and analyze campaigns with prompts, while AI tools can generate copy, imagery, translations, and personalized headlines from landing pages.
HubSpot and Shopify are bringing the format into existing ad dashboards, with Shopify expanding internationally September 23, so the humble ad click may soon feel more like opening a sales chat.
📞 ElevenLabs launches an AI receptionist ↗️LINK
ElevenLabs launched Reception, an AI voice agent that answers small business calls 24/7. It handles customer questions, books appointments into your calendar, and routes urgent requests, in more than 70 languages.
ElevenLabs pitches it at owners stuck on jobs or with clients. It says setup takes minutes: paste your website, and Reception learns your services and hours. Non-US businesses need extra phone setup.
ElevenLabs' site benchmarks Reception against the $38,010 median US receptionist wage. It also admits the AI can't handle in-person duties, so someone still has to greet walk-ins.
🚫 EU proposes social media ban for under-13s ↗️LINK
The European Commission proposed the EU KIDS Act, which would block social media accounts for children under 13 and limit 13- and 14-year-olds to parent-managed accounts with restricted features.
Platforms would also need to verify users’ ages and remove features like infinite scroll and nighttime push notifications, while giving minors safer recommendation algorithms and stronger privacy controls.
The proposal goes beyond setting age limits by targeting the mechanics that keep people scrolling, putting algorithms and addictive design directly alongside account access in Europe’s child-safety crackdown.

Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads
Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:
After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.
The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.
“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”
Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.
