Meta unveiled Ray-Ban Meta Audio, its first camera-free AI glasses, at Connect 2026. Starting at $349, they handle music, calls, translation, and conversations with Meta’s Muse assistant.
Meta built the audio-only model to address privacy concerns around camera-equipped smart glasses, after users drew criticism for covert recording. EssilorLuxottica designed the frames, which weigh 43 grams.
Turns out, removing the camera gives Meta more than a privacy pitch: the glasses are slimmer, last up to 12 hours, and come in 23 color and lens combinations when preorders open October 13.

Google’s Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS can clone a person’s voice from a 30-second sample, but it requires the speaker to record verbal consent that Google verifies against the voice.
The model rolls out today through the Gemini API and Google AI Studio, while also generating voices from text descriptions across 100-plus languages and offering more than 2,000 preset voices.
Google adds SynthID watermarks to every clip and C2PA credentials to clones, while the model scored 71.4 on Hume AI’s benchmark and already powers tools from Figma and HeyGen.
🧬 Claude uncovers new gene-editing system ↗️LINK
Anthropic says Claude agents scanning viral DNA found a previously unknown bacterial-virus system, dubbed ART, with CRISPR-like repeating DNA and genetic machinery that could point to a new gene-editing mechanism.
Researchers ran around 950 Claude agents for less than a day, while human scientists chose the research area and ran experiments that Claude proposed, according to Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei.
Not bad for less than a day of agent work: scientists already knew the enzyme, but Claude connected the surrounding DNA pattern to systems that cut, copy, and paste genetic material.
📺 Disney+ and Hulu raise subscription prices again ↗️LINK
Disney is raising several streaming prices, including ad-free Disney+ to $21.50 monthly and the ad-free Disney+ and Hulu bundle to $22, while ad-supported standalone plans rise to $12.50.
The new pricing takes effect today for new customers, marking Disney’s fourth round of streaming price increases in four years as the company continues adjusting its subscription strategy.
The $13 ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle stays unchanged, making it increasingly attractive as standalone prices climb and Disney shifts more major Marvel and Star Wars projects toward theaters.
📿 Meta unveils Muse Charm ↗️LINK
At its Connect event on Wednesday, Meta unveiled the Muse Charm, a keychain-sized puck with a Tamagotchi-like animated avatar that lets you talk to Muse AI without pulling out your phone.
The device, roughly the size of an Apple Watch, runs a real-time voice model and avatar. Tap its fingerprint sensor and it starts listening, ready to chat or look at your surroundings.
Mark Zuckerberg kept the details thin, promising only a holiday season launch and more info later this year. No price, no specs, but Meta wants a spot on your keychain in time for gift season.

Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads
Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:
After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.
The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.
“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”
