OpenAI opened Health in ChatGPT to every logged-in US user over 18, letting them connect Apple Health plus hospital records from Epic, Oracle Health, One Medical and Function.
Health context now surfaces inside normal chats rather than a walled-off tab, after OpenAI found more than 70% of testers asked health questions outside that section anyway.
OpenAI promises connected records never train its models or target ads. Privacy lawyers raise a separate point: once records leave your hospital, HIPAA stops applying and OpenAI's terms take over.
🎙️ Claude's voice mode gets the smarter ↗️LINK
Anthropic expanded Claude's voice mode past the lightweight Haiku model this week. Paid users can now hold spoken conversations on Sonnet and Opus, while free accounts stay on Haiku.
Voice mode also reaches connected tools like Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Slack once users grant permission. It defaults to your last text model and lets you swap mid-conversation.
Anthropic kept the turn-based design, so Claude listens, pauses, then answers. Rivals run full-duplex systems that process speech simultaneously, meaning better reasoning showed up here before smoother conversation did.

Patreon is cutting 93 employees, roughly 20% of its staff, CEO Jack Conte told the team Thursday. He called the core business healthy and framed the move as a cost adjustment.
Conte said the market shifted profoundly over the past six months and that AI changed how Patreon builds and operates. He drew a hard line against the idea that AI replaces people.
Patreon spent last week working with Cloudflare to block AI crawlers from scraping creator work. Seven days later, the same technology anchors a memo that ends 93 jobs.

Meta launched Seller, a standalone Facebook Marketplace app for frequent sellers, on the US App Store. It pulls in existing listings, messages and sales history, then adds AI listing tools and inventory tracking.
Facebook Verified arrives Monday as a free badge. Users record a short video selfie, Meta matches it against their profile photos, and the mark shows up across Profile, Marketplace, Dating and Groups.
Meta says AI now makes fake profiles and messages trivially easy to produce, so it wants your face. The paid Meta Verified badge, meanwhile, still runs $11.99 a month.
🌐 Amazon brings Alexa+ to UK web browsers ↗️LINK
Amazon opened Alexa .com to UK Early Access customers on July 20, putting Alexa+ in a browser. Users manage calendars, to-do lists, smart home devices and Ring cameras from a laptop.
The web version removes the Echo requirement entirely, and context travels with you. A conversation started in the browser picks up on an Echo Show or the mobile app.
Amazon's own CES numbers showed browser users running roughly three times as much shopping activity. The productivity assistant works remarkably well as a storefront that lives in your tab.
