Greetings! Your latest quick tech update is here:
☀️ On this day: On this day in 1996, the very first version of the Java programming language was released. Java was designed with the idea of “write once, run anywhere,” meaning programs written in Java could run on many different types of computers without needing to be rewritten — a key reason it became widely used on the web and in apps. It was originally developed for interactive television before becoming a cornerstone of internet programming.

Better prompts. Better AI output.
AI gets smarter when your input is complete. Wispr Flow helps you think out loud and capture full context by voice, then turns that speech into a clean, structured prompt you can paste into ChatGPT, Claude, or any assistant. No more chopping up thoughts into typed paragraphs. Preserve constraints, examples, edge cases, and tone by speaking them once. The result is faster iteration, more precise outputs, and less time re-prompting. Try Wispr Flow for AI or see a 30-second demo.
Hand-picked news:
🍎 Apple plans to turn Siri into an AI chatbot ↗️LINK
Apple is reportedly preparing a major Siri overhaul that would turn the assistant into a ChatGPT-style AI chatbot, with the update expected to arrive in iOS 27 and take center stage at WWDC in June, according to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.
The new Siri, internally codenamed Campos, would support both voice and text input, marking a shift from Apple’s earlier position that AI features should be quietly integrated rather than presented as a standalone chatbot experience.
The move reflects growing competitive pressure as Apple plays catch-up in AI, faces potential hardware competition from OpenAI, and settles on Google’s Gemini as its AI partner after testing models from rivals including Anthropic.
🤖 Tesla plans to sell Optimus robot next year ↗️LINK
Elon Musk said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that Tesla plans to sell its Optimus humanoid robot to the public by the end of next year, while leaving himself flexibility to delay until safety, reliability, and functionality are “very high.”
Musk claims Optimus robots are already doing simple tasks in Tesla factories, but there’s no independent proof, and past demos have faced criticism for relying on human operators instead of true autonomy.
Despite skepticism and the recent exit of the project’s leader, Tesla stock jumped over three percent, as Musk also repeated bold timelines for robot deployment and promised rapid production of the steering wheel free Cybercab.
📝 Google adds free SAT practice exams inside Gemini ↗️LINK
Google has launched free, full-length SAT practice exams inside Gemini through a partnership with The Princeton Review, letting students start a test by simply asking Gemini to begin a practice SAT.
The SAT exams are designed to mirror the real test experience and are fully integrated into Gemini, making them accessible without payment or separate sign-ups.
Google is also teaming up with Khan Academy to introduce Writing Coach, an AI tutor that provides interactive feedback to help students improve their writing, with both tools available now for free.
🎨 Comic-Con bans AI art after artist backlash ↗️LINK
San Diego Comic-Con has banned AI-generated art from its art show after artists pushed back against a policy that previously allowed AI works as long as they weren’t for sale and were clearly labeled.
The rule change came within 24 hours of artists publicly criticizing the policy, arguing that allowing AI art normalized tools that are already cutting into creative jobs across film, TV, and video games.
Artists said Comic-Con should protect human creators, not give space to AI systems trained on their work, especially at a convention built on celebrating illustrators, writers, and designers.
🛰️ Blue Origin to launch satellite internet service to rival SpaceX ↗️LINK
Blue Origin, founded by Jeff Bezos, plans to deploy 5,408 satellites for a new internet network called TeraWave aimed at enterprise, data center, and government customers, directly competing with SpaceX’s Starlink.
TeraWave promises data speeds of up to 6 terabits per second using satellites in low Earth orbit and medium Earth orbit, with Blue Origin expecting to begin deploying the constellation in the fourth quarter of 2027.
The launch puts Bezos in a crowded market where Starlink already operates more than 9,000 satellites serving about 9 million users, while Amazon continues scaling its own satellite effort, now called Leo, after sending up 180 satellites and planning a total constellation of 3,236.
