📊 56% of CEOs say AI has delivered no gains ↗️LINK

  • While 30% of CEOs report some revenue growth from AI in the past year, results are mixed overall, with 26% seeing reduced costs and 22% experiencing higher spending instead, highlighting uneven returns from adoption.

  • Despite modest results, confidence in AI remains relatively strong, as over half of CEOs believe AI adoption makes sense for their business, even if far fewer strongly agree their organizations are fully prepared yet.

🤝 ‘Human-centric’ AI startup raises $480M ↗️LINK

  • Humans&, a three-month-old startup founded by former researchers from Anthropic, xAI, and Google, raised a massive $480 million seed round at a $4.48 billion valuation before releasing its first product.

  • The company’s core pitch is that AI should empower workers rather than replace them, positioning itself against the automation- and autonomy-focused direction many AI labs are pursuing.

  • Humans& plans to build human-centric AI tools for communication and collaboration, described as an AI-powered version of instant messaging, with its first product expected to launch early this year.

🔒 OpenAI rolls out age prediction for ChatGPT ↗️LINK

  • OpenAI is deploying an age prediction model across ChatGPT to identify accounts that likely belong to users under 18 and automatically apply stricter safety safeguards.

  • When a user is flagged as a minor, ChatGPT limits access to sensitive content and certain interactions, with an option to verify age through a selfie or government ID using Persona if the system gets it wrong.

  • The change lays the groundwork for a future “adult mode,” which Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications, says OpenAI expects to launch in Q1 2026.

📱 Netflix vertical video is coming later this year ↗️LINK

  • Netflix has confirmed it will roll out vertical video later this year, following more than six months of testing short, swipeable clips inside its mobile app.

  • The redesigned app will more deeply integrate vertical video feeds, initially focused on trailers for shows and movies, with the potential to expand into new formats like video podcasts to increase engagement and time spent in-app.

  • Co-CEO Greg Peters said the shift is part of a long-term strategy to adapt Netflix’s mobile experience for the next decade, reflecting the growing influence of short-form, phone-first video consumption.

🤖 YouTube adds AI creator lookalikes for Shorts ↗️LINK

  • YouTube CEO Neal Mohan says creators will be able to make Shorts using their own AI-generated likenesses later this year, allowing AI versions of creators themselves to appear in short-form videos.

  • The feature is part of a broader AI push that also includes tools for generating games via text prompts, experimenting with music, auto-dubbing, AI video clips for Shorts, and an AI chatbot for channel analytics.

  • As Shorts now average 200 billion daily views, YouTube says it is also strengthening systems to combat AI spam and low-quality content, while adding new formats like image posts directly into the Shorts feed.

Better prompts. Better AI output.

AI gets smarter when your input is complete. Wispr Flow helps you think out loud and capture full context by voice, then turns that speech into a clean, structured prompt you can paste into ChatGPT, Claude, or any assistant. No more chopping up thoughts into typed paragraphs. Preserve constraints, examples, edge cases, and tone by speaking them once. The result is faster iteration, more precise outputs, and less time re-prompting. Try Wispr Flow for AI or see a 30-second demo.

Yesterday’s Poll Result:

Can AI-built tools realistically replace major SaaS products?

  • A) For many use cases, yes - 62% 🏆

  • B) Only at the margins - 38%

Reader’s opinion:

“I guess it depends on what AI-built means i.e. vibe coded or developer coded with AI assist? As for Vibe Coding, no, the average person does not understand the intricacies of a fully fledged SaaS product. I'm thinking of security, compliance, customer support, and monetizing a product.”
