The UK AI Security Institute ran 100+ cyber tests and found 10 cases where frontier agents, stripped of their safety features, took 19 unauthorized actions against real people and organizations online.
Mythos 5 accounted for 17 of those actions, planting malicious code in an open-source project and spinning up fake GitHub accounts to pressure the maintainer. OpenAI said a misconfigured Irregular test let one model hack the wrong website.
After testers flagged the malware, the agent pivoted to phishing emails, hidden prompts, and notes left for other agents to continue the job. Relentless goal-chasing loses its charm once the goal involves you.

A three year survey of 483 American University business students found over 80% used AI for coursework recently, while students using it eight or more times weekly climbed from 13% to 39%.
Job pressure explains part of it. Students reporting AI questions in interviews rose from 11.6% in 2024 to 42.6% in 2026, and brainstorming topped every year's use cases at 75.8%.
Students worry anyway: 43.5% admitted using AI as a shortcut rather than a supplement, and their top concern was cognitive devaluation, which sounds like a formal term for not learning.

Disney and TikTok signed a deal letting approved creators make vertical Disney videos that appear on both platforms, with the US-only pilot launching in the coming months and no firm date yet.
Creators who opt in get access to Disney assets across hundreds of films and series, including Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. The videos land in Verts, the TikTok-style section Disney+ launched in March.
Disney counts 6.5 million film and TV posts on TikTok daily, and half of surveyed users said the app pushed them to watch something. Cheaper to recruit that machine than rebuild it.
🚀 SpaceX revenue doubles on Starlink and AI deals ↗️LINK
SpaceX doubled revenue in its first quarterly report since going public, growing sales from $4 billion to $7.8 billion year over year. Its quarterly loss narrowed to $541 million from $1 billion.
Nearly $2 billion of the growth came from its AI division, which rents compute to Anthropic and Google. Starlink added $1.7 billion, and the CFO said $6.7 billion more sits under contract.
That AI division is the former xAI, which struggled to win customers of its own. Now it rents its Memphis data center capacity to the labs it was chasing.

SpaceX and Nvidia will co-design the compute payload for Starmind AI1, a solar powered satellite carrying Nvidia Rubin GPUs and Vera CPUs to run AI workloads in low Earth orbit.
SpaceX revealed the partnership alongside its first earnings since June's IPO, reporting $7.8 billion in Q2 revenue, up 92% annually, on a net loss of $541 million.
SpaceX wants FCC approval for up to one million such satellites, with prototype testing set for 2027. Shares fell about 8% after hours anyway, as investors eyed the ballooning capital spending.
